Biogas-electric bus press preview in Västerås
The BBB extension stage project is closing in on the finish line and some very exciting deliverables have now been presented. A few weeks ago the first biogas-electric hybrid bus arrived in Bergen, Norway, and only a few days later another hybrid bus arrived in Västerås, Sweden. On December 1st the Västerås bus was showed to the press and a group of local politicians.
Biogas hybrid seminar & bus trip in Bergen, Norway
On November 21st most of the BBB partners, along with politicians and other public transport stakeholders from the partner countries, met up in Bergen to learn more about the brand new biogas-electric hybrid bus which Norwegian partner Skyss have invested in as part of the BBB extension stage project. The highlight of the day was the "test trip" with the bus along line 2 in Bergen.
Biogas-electric hybrid bus arrives in Bergen
Skyss, the public transport authority in the Hordaland region of Norway, has invested in a 24 meter bi-articulated biogas-electric hybrid bus as part of the BBB extension stage project. On October 17th the bus touched Norwegian ground for the first time in sunny Bergen.
Biogas conference in Kaunas, Lithuania
On September 9th the More BBB project organized a biogas seminar in Kaunas, Lithuania. Advancements in all the different project activities was presented, including biogas electric hybrid buses, eco-driving for better fuel economy and biogas upgrading. View all the presentations below.
Biogas hybrid bus conference in Bergen, Norway
On March 17th the third event of the Baltic Biogas Bus extension stage project was hosted by HOG Energi and Skyss in Bergen, Norway. This one day "Biogas hybrid bus conference" focused on biogas bus operational experiences and the development of more energy efficient biogas-electric hybrid buses to be tested within the project in Västerås, Sweden, and in Bergen, Norway.
Study visit & seminar in Västerås, Sweden
On December 12th a study visit and seminar regarding "drivers for implementation of biogas for urban public transports" was hosted by Västerås Public Transport and Biogas East in Västerås, Sweden, as part of the Baltic Biogas Bus extension stage project.
Baltic Biogas Bus extension presented in Oslo
On november 7th the Norwegian Gas Association and the Norwegian Gas Forum are hosting a one-day event in Oslo on the topic of "biogas as vehicle fuel". Among the presenters are Nelson Rojas from HOG Energy, one of the partners in the Baltic Biogas Bus extension stage project.

On September 30th a regional seminar on "Introducing biogas for urban public transport" was hosted in Riga by the Riga City Council Traffic Department, as part of the More BalticBiogasBus project.

On September 30th and October 1st the first regional seminar and partner meeting within the extension stage project More Baltic Biogas Bus will be hosted in Riga by the Riga City Council. The topic for the regional seminar is "introducing biogas for urban public transport".

Walbrzych -potential to use biomethane in public transport, Poland, July 2012
On the 3rd of July a regional seminar was organized in Walbrzych in the south west of Poland. Several participants attended the seminar, which was held in the beautiful Ksiaz Castle. Interest from local authorities was big and representatives from the Municipal Department of Public Utilities (MZUK), the Board of Roads, Department of Transport and Maintenance of Walbrzych, and the Walbrzych Gasworks all attended the seminar.

The latest regional seminar within the Baltic Biogas Bus project was hosted by the city of Tartu on the 14th of August. More than a dozen speakers gave presentations, mainly regarding use of biogas in bus operations.

A successful final event!
The final event in the Baltic Biogas Bus project was successfully held in Norway Bergen on the 22nd of May with 60 special invited guests from politics, research and industry.

The partner Kauno Autobusai in Kaunas in co-operation with other project partners has organised second regional seminar of Baltic biogas bus project in Lithuania on the 20th of April 2012. The seminar was attended by more than 80 people, among them the Lithuanian minister for transport and communications Mr. Eligijus Masiulis, mayor of Kaunas city Mr. Andrius Kupcinskas, council members of Kaunas city, executives from public transport companies.

Under the titel "Biogas as vehicle fuel " Baltic Biogas Bus held an International Scientific-Technical Conference on 19-20 October 2011 in Rzeszow. The initiator of the conference was Mayor of Rzeszow and the Motor Transport Institute.

Regional Seminar in Riga, Latvia
On the 1st December, 2010 in Riga was held a regional seminar on the use of biogas in public transport. The seminar was organized by Riga City Council Traffic Department within the EC supported Project "BalticBiogasBus".
Seminar was attended by 38 participants among whom were the representatives of ministries and local authorities as well as passenger transport companies and bioenergy associations.

On the 9th of November a regional Baltic Biogas Bus seminar was held in Uppsala, Sweden. The seminar was organized by the dissemination partner Malardalen Energy Agency/Biogas Öst in collaboration with Stockholm public transport company (SL).
Regional Seminanar 22nd of September in Kaunas, Lithuania
On the 22nd of September 2010 a regional seminar of the Baltic Biogas Bus project was held in Kaunas.
In conjunction with a partner meeting in Kaunas, the project partner JSC "Buses of Kaunas", organized the seminar.
The seminar attracted approxemately 60 participants. It was an excellent opportunity to obtain more knowledge about biogas and to present the BBB-project.
Baltic Biogas Bus at Gasskonferansen in Bergen
Baltic Biogas Bus Project was invited to Gasskonferansen to present the project and the development of biogas bus use in Stockholm. Gasskonferansen was held in Bergen, Norway, 28th to 29th of April 2010.
Regional seminar for the Baltic Biogas Bus project 10th of March 2010 in Oslo Norway
On the 10th of March 2010 the first regional seminar of the Baltic Biogas Bus project was held in Oslo.
In conjunction with a partner meeting in Oslo, the BBB-project, through the project partner Ruter AS, acted as a co organizer of the Nordic Biogas Conference between the 10th and the 12th of March.
The Nordic Biogas Conference, which is a biannual event, attracted approxemately 200 participants. It was an excellent opportunity to obtain more knowledge about biogas and to present the BBB-project.
Launch Event in Tartu
On the 1st of December 2009 the project´s Launch event was organized in Tartu, Estonia. In the welcome speech, Mr. Jaanus Tamkivi, the Minister of Environment in Estonia, stressed the importance of the Baltic Biogas Bus project to mitigate climate change in Europe and Estonia.
Kick-off meeting in Stockholm
28-29 September 2009 the project Start-up meeting for the partners was organized in Stockholm. At that meeting the contract issues with the Programme and between the partners were discussed.
On the 2nd of July The Swedish Government decided to develop a biogas strategy for Sweden
Biogas can play an important role to reduce impact from transportation on climate, and create jobs regionally and locally.
