A successful final event!
The final event in the Baltic Biogas Bus project was successfully held in Norway Bergen on the 22nd of May with 60 special invited guests from politics, research and industry.

Under the title of Biogas – The natural choice for city buses, the event featured a program with sessions about environmental Policy, resources, Production & Infrastructure, use of biogas in buses and an outline of results from the project.
A well-received message
The message of biogas as a natural choice for city busses was well-received by the attending delegates, says Mr. Ove Lunde Managing Director of HOG Energi, the partner hosting the event I Bergen.
In Bergen we can now see that the new biogas plant that is under way in our city is getting more and more attention from both the public and politicians. The understanding that biogas will be a significant contributor to reduce emissions in our city is also a broadening, we think that the project has been a significant instrument in achieving this understanding, says Mr. Lunde.
Highlighted results, achievements and experiences
The program highlighted results from the project but also had invited speakers from government and industry, featuring a blend of perspectives and experiences from different countries, says Baltic Biogas Bus Project Manager Mr. Lennart Hallgren. He also adds that such interchange and dissemination of knowledge has been a core element throughout the project.
The event in Bergen concluded with a handover ceremony of a document outlining project results, to politicians from Norway, Sweden and Estonia. The politicians commented that they would use the document actively in their work, and emphasized the importance of intensifying the introduction renewable fuels in the city traffic. We hope our results and our message contribute to give policy makers in cities, valuable tools to make the proper strategies to facilitate the use of renewables and specially biogas as fuel, concludes Mr. Hallgren.
The Baltic Biogas Bus Project is a 3 year project ending in September 2012. The project is partly funded by the EU and seeks to encourage cities and regions around the Baltic Sea and Norway to use biogas as a fuel for public transport.
